Birdie's Playhouse offers WILDLY FUN parent & me music classes for 0 to 5
year olds. Birdie's class combines singing, movement, instrument play, puppets & fun facts about
wildlife. Her class was featured in LA's Daily CANDY Kids!
Learn about the birds and the bees and other wildlife! Birdie engages babies
& preschoolers by using animal puppets, fun games like "feed the elephant"
and tactile, musical experiences such as playing with streamers, balls and
percussion instruments. Plus her musical style and connection with young
ones is infectious and filled with joy. Pre-schoolers learn to play as a
group while developing a sense of rythym and tone. And the music used in
class is a selection from today's top family artists -- handpicked by Birdie
to make sure the grownups are groovin too!

Private Classes * Ages 0 to 5 * Birdie will fly to you!
Birdie will FLY TO YOU if you gather a minimum of 5 paying families. If you are the host & can gather at least 6 paying families you get the class FREE! Invite your friends or mommy group to your home & make it a social learning experience! Class duration is 50 minutes. You can try a single class to start.
With a minimum commitment of 5 classes, the RATES per family are:
$18 for first child, $8 each additional sibling & siblings 6 months & under are free!
Safety note: Birdie's Playhouse works hard to make sure activities are fun & safe. However Birdie's Playhouse cannot be held responsible for any personal injuries so please take extra care of yourself & your child in class. Birdie sterilizes all instruments before every class.
Detailed Class Description
Singing
We start each class with Birdie’s Hello Song. Then we sing kids songs, such as “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” "Wheels on the Bus” & “Oh When the Ants, Come Marchin in.” Everyone also gets to play some type of instrument -- bells, shakers, strumming a guitar, etc.
Dancing, Movement or Game play
Birdie then leads the group in movement such as the "Dolphin Dance," or "Monkey Dance," to kids music in styles ranging from Latin to pop. We might play a game such as "Shake your Tail Feathers," "Freeze Dance," or "pull the tail off the monkey."
Instrument Play
We all play a variety of percussion instruments such as bottle shakers, drums, castanets, tambourines in a free play. Birdie will also lead call & response drum beats and percussion hits. Adults are encouraged to serve as role models by playing these more challenging beats.
Puppets * Storytime
Every class features a specific wild animal. And we see that animal puppet, hear a story, sing a song, or learn fun facts about the animal.
Goodbye
We sing the goodbye song at the end of every class and it can be found on the "Wildlife," CD included with a purchase of at least 5 classes.
Singing & chanting will be done as a group. Birdie often accompanies with light percussion. The Movement & Instrument Play will be done to CD tracks.
Birdie is Latina, so we sprinkle in words in Spanish. Entonces, spanish / bilingual speakers & nannies are WELCOME! Bienvenidos! Todos los animales y yo nos hablamos espanol! Eso! |
