Birdie's Playhouse is the creation of Birdie Mendoza (aka Michele Moreno) who has been singing since her early days in the nest. Her debut kids CD, The Wild World of Wildlife, has won a Parent's Choice award, a Gold National Parenting Publications Award & gets regular rotation on internet radio such as Saturday Morning Cereal Bowl & Preschool Radio. She called upon many accomplished musicians to record the album, one of whom is now the Musical Director of NBC's Saturday Night Live! See CD credits for more info.

Since then, Birdie and her live backing musicians have performed at venues across southern California such as the Natural History Museum, Kidspace Museum, Leavitt Pavilion, The Grove, Manhattan Village mall, San Diego's New Children's Museum, & dozens of kid birthdays. Birdie has also performed for these celebrities and their kids: Rivers Cuomo (Weezer), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives), Chris Noth (The Good Wife), Constance Marie (George Lopez Show) & Courtney Thorne-Smith.

Birdie was the only Latina Ray Charles backup singer in history and has sung on numerous TV & film scores, including an episode of HBO's Six Feet Under. She also fronts the Birdie Mendoza Band that plays Latin Jazz standards for grownup special events. She has sung all over the world, see Credits, and in 2007 as Michele Moreno released a grownup indie CD Plastic Garden. She is also an actress with co-star credits on shows like The Shield, Parenthood & Boston Legal.
